Phantom Ranch Lottery

Phantom Ranch (lodging and canteen) will be fully closed from January 2, 2025 to March 30, 2025 (dates subject to possible extension), as the Transcanyon Waterline (TCWL) contractor will be performing extensive excavation work in this area. Additional information is available on the National Park Service website.

And due to trail conditions, Phantom Ranch mule rides are cancelled through December 31, 2025.

Bright Angel Trail will be closed from Havasupai Gardens to Silver Bridge October 21, 2024 through May 14, 2025. Those hiking to Phantom Ranch must take the South Kaibab Trail both to and from Phantom Ranch. Please note that there are no water fill stations on South Kaibab so pack plenty of water. Phantom Ranch utilizes a lottery system for random selection of the bed space (cabins and dorms). Please note the Dormitories are currently closed and we unfortunately do not yet have a new target date for them to re-open.

• Lottery entries are made between the 1st and 25th of the 15th month prior to the desired stay month.
• Lottery submissions will be processed, lottery winners notified, and reservations guaranteed within the 14th month prior to arrival.
• Any unsold/unclaimed inventory will be released to general availability for reservations following the current 13-month reservation window.
